Context

Independent stylists often rely on DMs and messaging apps to manage clients, resulting in missed appointments, unclear communication, and inconsistent experiences.

Challenge

Design a mobile-first solution that allows users to discover, evaluate easily, and book beauty services, while empowering providers to present themselves professionally and manage their bookings.

A mobile-first app enabling users to discover and book local independent beauty professionals (nails, lashes, brows) operating from home studios or apartments. As the sole UX/UI designer, I led the product from research through to high-fidelity design

Define

Client Goals

  • Build trust through clear visuals, reviews, and verified profiles

  • Simplify search and booking for users on the go

  • Create a scalable foundation for future features (payments, calendar sync, chat)

  • Prioritise accessibility for a diverse user base

Target Users

  • Beauty Service Seekers: Women aged 18–40 seeking quality treatments (nails, brows, lashes) in their area

  • Independent Providers: Stylists working from home studios need a trusted, professional platform to attract and retain clients

  • Scalable UI Components: Developed reusable elements in Figma to support future features (e.g., payment integration)

Validate

Usability Testing
